Useful Writing Project Lingo

  • Book Club: Where two or more teachers gather together to discuss a book they both have read. A study group is similar to a book club in all ways except that the genre of reading for a study group is professional books.
  • Teacher Consultant: A teacher who has completed the summer institute and is available for consultation, presentations, book study facilitation, among other things.
  • Fellow: A teacher who is currently participating in the summer institute.
  • Summer Institute: A four-week block of time during which approximately 15 teachers of any subject, at any level (K-College), come together to learn, experience and share about writing.
